Our Story
From a young age, our founders were immersed in adventure sports. Growing up around activities such as wakeboarding, climbing, mountain adventures and outdoor travel, adventure was not simply a career choice - it was a way of life.
This led to studying Outdoor Adventure Management, where we developed a deeper understanding of how to manage activities, people and environments while effectively identifying and mitigating risk.
From there, we moved into hands-on operational roles, initially working as instructors across high ropes courses, water sports venues and adventure activities. Over time, this progressed into operational and senior management positions, with responsibility for the health and safety, compliance, procedures, training and day-to-day operation of adventure facilities.
Our Philosophy
We didn't just study adventure. We operated it.
Working within the industry revealed a recurring problem: specialist adventure risk management expertise can be difficult to find.
We saw first-hand how busy operators can become overwhelmed by compliance, how procedures can become disconnected from real-world operations, and how corners can sometimes be cut when time, resources or specialist knowledge are limited.
But in the adventure industry, health and safety isn't something you can afford to compromise on.
The Adventure Water Company was created to bridge that gap.
We combine real-world adventure operations experience with professional risk management expertise, giving operators access to specialists who understand not only what good health and safety looks like on paper, but what it actually looks like when an adventure park is full, the weather changes, equipment fails and decisions need to be made quickly.
We are park operators turned risk consultants.
Our purpose is simple: to help adventure businesses operate safely, confidently and effectively - without losing what makes adventure, adventure.
